Battle of Mid-rangers: Nokia X6 (6.1 plus) Vs Redmi Note 5 pro Vs Mi A2 Vs Asus Zenfone max Pro M1

Hello Guys, Let me start by telling you that the month of August was crazy. It was in fact super crazy. India saw many smartphones launched in this month and some of those are beast in performance but price was quite low. Yes, you guessed it. I was talking about Poco F1 and Honor Play. Both are priced at around 20000 rupees and surprisingly, the chipset offered is top of the line. From Krini 970 to Snapdragon 845, these 2 phones have shaken the industry and set a new standard. But, here, we are not talking about those 2 phones. In this shaky month, Nokia launched its much awaited 6.1 plus and India's top mid range brand Xiaomi launched Mi A2. Both are android one devices and priced under 17,000 rupees. Xiaomi wanted it or not but the A2 actually challenges its own sister Redmi Note 5 pro which sells at 15,000. Similarly, the battery beast Asus zenfone max pro M1 has started selling its 6GB variant with an upgraded camera. Today, I will give you clear idea which is best fo...

Hello friends ! Lots of questions are asked to me daily that "which mobile one should prefer under 15000?". This is the highest selling sub segment in India. Xiaomi topped the list and dethroned Samsung last year. But, now, many other OEMs have started making some brilliant phones under this price bracket. So, I will tell you 5 best mobile under 15000 in today's post. 5. Moto Z2 play 64GB, Price: 15k, Paytm  Motorola Z2 play happens to be last year's mid range flagship of Motorola. This mobile was launched under sub 30k price bracket which is dominated by Honor and Oneplus. This mobile has a brilliant AMOLED display and smart moto mods which is why it has made into list of my top phones. It comes with a respectable snapdragon octa core 626 chip and a dual pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture. Motorola still holds a good brand value in India.  All essential sensors are present in it. Pros: 1. Great camera performance. 2. Stock android. 3. Amoled displ...

Nokia 7 Plus review: Born to revive Nokia brand

Image
Nokia brand came back last year when HMD was honored with the rights to make Nokia branded mobile phones. This time HMD went with Android. This year, they announced a strategic partnership with Google as their phones(Nokia 3 and above) will be Android one devices with 2 years of Guaranteed Android upgrades and 3 years of Guaranteed monthly security patches. Last year they launched Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8 ranging from 7000 rupees to 36000 rupees. Thats not all. This year in February, Nokia launched some interesting devices. Out of which, the most attention grabber is Nokia 7 plus. I bought it from Nokia site and lets review it. Build: When it comes to build, Nokia 7 plus is one of the best built devices out there. There is no Antenna line and beautiful copper ascent flows through side of the mobile, camera border and fingerprint border. Made out of Series 6000 Aluminium, it has uni body design.By the way, my favorite color is the white one. Also, it doe...

Oneplus 6 VS samsung S8 : Battle of mid range flagships

On 16th of May 2018, the whole twitter was filled with Oneplus' fans tweets. Let it be how amazing it looks or how fast it is etc etc. When I tracked all of these activities, I noticed that the Oneplus which we know 4 years back has changed completely over the years. The mobile cost is doubled and the gap between the price of its flagship and the flagship of Tier 1 brand has narrowed down in last 4 years. Next day, Oneplus 6 was launched in India at 34,999 and 39,999 for 6GB RAM/64GB Storage & 8GB RAM/128 GB Storage respectively. The price of both variants increased. But, the flagship champion Samsung has dropped the price of its last year's model S8. Almost, all sites now are selling it at 37,990. So which one you should prefer? I am going to give my opinion in this post. Specification of Oneplus 6: Powered by 845, Full HD plus AMOLED panel, notch with 19:9 aspect ratio, Dual camera with 16MP primary shooter with f/1.7 aperture and an OIS, Daily water resistant w...

Battle of mid-range champions (Redmi Note 5 pro Vs Nokia 6.1 Vs Asus ZF M1 Vs Moto G6 Plus)

Hello everyone, The year of 2018 has started with many phones launching in past 2 months. Many more are going to be launched in next 2 to 3 weeks. When I keep track of them, the most popular segment indeed is from Rs 10000 to Rs 20000. The segment is mainly dominated by Xiaomi and Motorola. But, Asus and Nokia have started tightening their belts. They have also launched some interesting phones especially Asus launching Zenfone Max pro M1. Lets have an overall comparison of the specs and I will share my recommendation which one you should go for. Display & Build: There is no question that build of Nokia is always superior. Thanks to its full Aluminium 6000 series body. It looks amazing to eyes. But, when it comes to display, there is a catch. If we compare display, all have Full HD display. But here except Nokia, all offers a modern aspect ratio of 18:9. However, Nokia has an advantage of high contrast and higher Nits value. meaning the sun visibility is excellent. N...

10 Features of Smartphones which are over-hyped

Hello ! Welcome back. You know every smartphone has Unique Selling Point. But, with time, every mobile has come up with many features. Are those all useful? Definitely no. So why is so hype? May be for marketing or may be OEMs just misunderstand users' need. Lets find out what are the most over-hyped features in a smartphone.  1. The "Notch" Apple X comes with a notch and all android phones have started copying it. In  my opinion, normal 18:9 or bezzle less panels like Mi Mix 2 are much better looking. The notch has no usability and looks ugly when someone watches a video or plays a game. 2. Face Unlock Its not to be mistaken as FaceID or IRIS scanner. FaceID of Apple is hardware based so as IRIS scanner of Samsung and both are pretty secured. But, the android devices which simply has face unlock like Oneplus 5T based on front camera is totally useless. Its not secured at all. Why it exists even if its not safe or secure? 3. Google Assistant/Siri ...

The Samsung S9/S9 plus is already here.. Should you buy?

Hi Guys, Welcome to another post of mine. Samsung recently launched its much hyped mobile S9 plus/S9 in MWC 2018. Its almost 20 days since its pre-order started. So, the main question you may ask yourself "Shall I upgrade?" or "Shall I buy?" Well, read on to get the answer here..  Lets begin from the most marketed sepc. The "Camera". Samsung has marketed the product as the best camera in industry especially for low light photography. The main highlight of the camera is that the S9 plus has now 2 camera set ups with one telephoto lens for 2X optical zoom. The S9 has only one camera though. The primary camera has a wider aperture of f/1.5. This camera has a mechanical variable aperture to switch between i.e. f/1.5 and f/2.4. The phone adjusts the aperture as per the light condition. So, the low aperture gathers a lot of light and beats the Google pixel 2 XL. The camera has a separate processor now for ultra slow motion video. The mobile has ...

Top smartphones to look for in 2018 (The MWC launches)

Hello Guys, It seems that the MWC 2018 was a big success this time if you follow the developments. But, which smartphones were the biggest hits and when those will be available in India? Thats the question everyone asks. Well, keep reading till I tell you the top 5 mobiles to look for in 2018 after MWC. Please note I will not include Samsung S9 as it was too obvious.  5. Sony Xperia XZ2: Xperias used to be one of the leading mobile brand in India when it was launched by Sony back in 2010. But, slowly, the brand value eroded due to chinese entrants and Sony did not really evolve. The same old boring design and an awkward positioning of sensors always haunted the company. Sony went with Mediatek chips for many models because you know its Japan and Taiwan and they share a friendly relationship. Slowly, Sony has realized that it needs to upgrade the design and internals. Sony Xperia XZ2 is the mobile which has been brought with that concept. With a 18:9 panel and 845 chip...

What to expect from Oneplus in 2018

Hello friends, Hope you are doing well. The mobile world congress is about to begin. All the tech enthusiasts must be very excited for the upcoming weekend. In one of my last blog posts, I chose Xiaomi and Nokia as the winners. Many of my friends might disagree because Oneplus a.k.a Oppo's mid range flagship is one of the strong contenders. I have been a critic of Oneplus for past several months. That's because of several reasons. Lets check what Oneplus did wrong in past several months. 1. Marketing 2X optical Zoom for Oneplus 5 camera, then when confronted by the Developers, Oneplus accepted it was 1.6x. 2. Then the benchmark manipulation issue. "Seriously, Oneplus? You had 835 processor, yet you had to manipulate the AnTuTu score" 3. Getting privacy info via system app. This one was a blunder which Oneplus apologized later. 4. Numerous credit card hacks from their website. Though, mobile marketing need not to be blamed for that. Leaving th...

10 unknown Google apps which make your smartphone smarter

Hi Friends, Hope you are doing well. Today I am going to write on some google apps which you probably never heard of. But, those apps are quite useful and can make your mobile smarter. In fact, google has so many apps under its hood, you really do not need 3rd party apps for many activities. Its because google team understands the Users' need and they are the best in optimizing. Okay, lets start. 1. Datally (Android): This is a google app developed by google to track and control your data usage. Many times, we feel shortage of data. I understand Jio gives ample of data. But, people who racharge 149 voucher or any other small data packs, this app becomes essential to control the data usage limits. You can try it if you really want to see which app consumes how much data. 2. Files go (Android): Many times we need a file manager which can give us an access to storage and we can free up space and share the data easily. A lot of mobiles do not have a file manager...

Best Smartphones available online in January 2018

Hello friends, Happy New Year ! In Today's blog, I am going to give you the information about best mobiles available online and some sweet deals which are trending online. I will consider Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and Snapdeal as the main e-retailers. The list will be according to the price segment and with USP so that you can choose a mobile as per your need or which USP is your priority. Please note that this is purely my personal opinion and for me value for the price matters the most. So, you may find I have omitted some good models of Sony, Apple and HTC because of their insane price what they demand.   Below 5999: 1. Redmi 5A , Rs 4999 (Flash sale)- Flipkart 2. 10.OR D , Rs 5999 (Flash Sale)- Amazon Prefer Redmi 5A to 10.or D because of Xiaomi's brand value. Choose 10.or D if you can not live without a finger print reader which is not present in Redmi 5A. Between 5999 to 10000:  If Selfie matters to you,  1. Micromax Canvas infi...
